Put the Training to Work

Training is the process of transferring knowledge and practicing the skills needed to perform job functions. Effective training must focus on the people who need to apply the skills; match the policy & procedures of the organization; be fully integrated into performance reviews; and adapt to meet the individual needs of each person served. NAPPI designs all its coursework to support this process.

Aim at the Adult Learner

Though our techniques are based on sound psychological theory, little time is spent on this in class. The NAPPI task-based approach is designed to be immediately useful to the direct contact worker, and is complemented by interactive learning techniques where each student has the opportunity to practice the skills covered in class.

Reinforce Best Practice Approaches

Every module is taught to concrete performance objectives, giving an organization unparalleled ability to truly test for learning. NAPPI can provide written tests, verbal tests, return demonstrations and simulations. This allows us to evaluate and document everything from basic knowledge gained, to skill levels enhanced, to how an individual will respond to a specific situation. Therefore, you can see how well the student understands and that the student can apply the knowledge at work.

Employ the Safest Restraint Techniques in the Industry

At NAPPI, we believe that the safest restraint is the one never happens. The NAPPI program leads the industry in proactive approaches to avoid such events and teaches numerous restraint avoidance techniques. However, there are circumstances where holding someone may be the safest response for everyone; therefore NAPPI has had all their physical techniques and underlying kinesiology and philosophy thoroughly scrutinized to ensure that these events are as safe as possible.

Focus on Proactive Content

NAPPI teaches staff members how to safely manage the emergency event, but we also move significantly upstream. Not only do we teach defusing, assessment and prevention strategies, but NAPPI is the only behavior training company that also has significant curriculum designed to train staff members in the basic skills needed to change institutional culture, including coaching, building positive, professional relationships, and generating cooperation.

Deliver More Than Just Training

We deliver state-of-the-art skills, flexible programming, ongoing organizational consulting, on-site and telephone support, direct and trainer delivery options, continuing skill refresher choices and much, much more. Since 2007, we have been offering web-based training so you can provide your employees the very best content while leveraging your training dollar.
