NAPPI for Managers

What is the most difficult job in your organization? It may be your direct care supervisors – the ones who must competently support and supervise the employees who face challenging behaviors.

This training is designed from the perspective of the supervisor. It answers these questions:

"How can I supervise those who face potentially violent people?”
“How can I help keep them safe, effective, and humane?
“How can I guide and support them when things are at the most challenging and when things are going well?”

Human relations training can be altered dramatically by a shift in perspective. If you are looking for something new, this is it--a course designed, not with the traditional workplace in mind, but with a unique culture where violence may be an expected (albeit unwanted) part of everyday life.

Your supervisors need a special focus on staff issues. Therefore, there are four areas of focus for this course:

  • Increased Management Skills. These help supervisors manage employees from the whole spectrum of work performance.
  • Caring Attitude & Awareness Skills. We provide concrete practice for managers on using the caring attitudes from the NAPPI Training course to nurture and support their staff. We find that supervisors get the best results when they have a supportive attitude toward staff who can expect to receive verbal abuse, threats, and assault.
  • Coaching Skills. NAPPI trained managers will coach staff often and effectively.
  • “All of us are smarter than just one of us.” Managers who apply these skills can provide an environment that improves teamwork. Focusing on what is going well and the true nature of a difficult situation reduces blame and increases positive results.

NAPPI for Managers is a customized course, designed specifically for your organization. We would be glad to create a plan and a quote for your exact needs.
