NAPPI Training OptionsNAPPI has been in use at facilities that have successfully been credentialed by JCAHO, COA, Medicare, and CARF. We have worked with both the CWLA and NTAC of the NASMHPD on their restraint and seclusion reduction and elimination initiatives to provide trauma-informed care in a non-coercive, non-violent treatment milieu. We strive to create environments where restraints are unnecessary, assaults are unknown, and where everyone feels safe. To achieve these goals, staff members need numerous skills; skills that help them respond to positive behaviors, intervene with unwanted behaviors, and have the confidence and ability to safely stop physical harm when necessary. NAPPI offers several program types to suit a variety of your organization’s needs:
Direct TrainingOur Professional NAPPI Trainers will come to you and train on your site. We offer a wide range of courses to meet every need and budget. Programs range from 3 hours to 5 days in length. We offer partnership-building tools, culture enhancing strategies, verbal assessment, prevention and de-escalation skills, as well as physical techniques (self-protection, and if necessary, restraining skills or even mechanical restraining skills). Regardless of your work environment, our programs can help make you, your staff, and your clients safer! Trainer CertificationWould you like to have your own staff do your training? NAPPI also offers Trainer Certification courses. Depending upon the coursework selected, these intensive skill-building sessions are from 5 days to 15 days long. In addition to giving your trainer-candidates the skills to deliver the rich NAPPI philosophy, skills and strategies, this course gives them the adult learning and training skills they need to deliver an exciting, informative and interactive course.
